Bikers will battle it out again this Saturday, Sept. 26 to see who has the best ride at the Bikes, Blues and BBQ 2009 Stokes Air Battle of the Bikes in Baum Stadium.
Bikers interested in having their motorcycle name the best can register for $20 and have their bikes placed into one of 10 categories, such as “American cruiser” or “radical custom,” and winners are chosen by the audience, according to the BBB Web site.
The winner of each class will compete for the Best of Show Championship Belt and the Best in Show winner has traditionally held the honor of leading the Parade of Power on Saturday afternoon, according to the Web site.
Last year’s winner was John Wabaunsee from Pineville, MO, with a 2001 Harley-Davidson Road King, against at least 49 other contestants battling for the title, according to the Web site.
Wabaunsee then battled the previous year’s winner, Jonnie Taylor, for the overall title, but Taylor successfully defended the title with her 1995 Sportster and will be back to defend the title again this year, according to the Web site.
