The Transit and Parking department is now offering charter bus services to departments and sponsored groups from the UA.

The two new busses, which look similar to shuttle craft, seat 32 people and are more affordable for smaller groups, said charter representative A.J. Bellard. Since the charter service got the busses at the beginning of September, it has been kept busy with an average of 4-5 jobs per week, Bellard said.

The charter service, which has had 33 jobs already this November, shuttles department groups for field trips, conference groups from remote parking lots to campus and does many of the airport runs for some of the smaller athletic teams, Bellard said.

The minimum charge for the shuttle service is 85$ for up to two hours, which is the same rate as other local providers for the small shuttle craft. Groups that were having to use large shuttle busses can possible save money by using the new UA charter busses instead, Bellard said. The gymnastics team was previously using a big bus to go to the airport, costing them 900$ round trip, he said, but the UA shuttle service only costs them 340$.
