Postings warning to not drink the water in Kimpel Hall have been taken down and the water supply is back to normal.
Multiple signs were posted over water fountains and in front of bathrooms throughout Kimpel claiming the water is dirty and not fit to use or drink. The signs were posted late yesterday afternoon.
Facilities Management employees had been working on piping in the building and something was knocked out of place, causing rusty water to spill out into the system, said a Facilities Management official.
The drinking fountains were still okay to use, however, according Facilities Management. The fountains have filters on them, so as long as the water isn’t discolored there is not anything wrong with them.
A boil order was not ordered, but it was recommended to not drink from the bathroom sinks, according to Facilities Managment.
Officials at the Pat Walker Health Center said they were not notified of the problem, as of yesterday afternoon.
