Best Sports Bar: Buffalo Wild Wings

Walls filled with high-definitions and plasma televisions, beer flowing from taps located behind the bar, wings frying and flying out from the kitchen and onto high-top, bar tables, and of course, fans with numbers on their back and their favorite teams logo sported on the front screaming their heads off whenever a basket, touchdown, run or goal is scored. Buffalo Wild Wings recently won the Arkansas Traveler Best of Fayetteville survey for Best Sports Bar in town.
“It’s totally rowdy in here when sporting events are going on,” said Buffalo Wild Wings Bartender Ryan Davenport. “Both opposing teams usually come in and rival each other and play off each other during the games. It gets totally loud and is sure to always be a good time.”
Though the nation-wide sports bar chain restaurant features the usual baseball, basketball and football sporting events on their massive TVs scattered across the bar, the three main sports do not bring in the biggest crowd.
“We usually draw the biggest crowd on UFC fight nights. We do the Pay-Per-Views and don’t charge a cover, so a lot of people come for those events because other bars in town usually charge a cover,” Davenport. “And of course we get a big crowd for the Super Bowl or any championship game.”
Games and sports matches are not the only events to draw in UA students across town from the UA campus to Buffalo Wild Wings. The restaurant offers multiple specials throughout the week – whether it is 60 cent boneless wings Thursdays, 50 cent traditional wings Tuesdays or happy hour featured throughout the week from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with $3 dollar domestic drafts. Buffalo Wild Wings most popular bar food is their traditional and boneless chicken wings, which can be mixed in any one of their signature sauces, such as Sweet BBQ, Teriyaki, Mild, Parmesan Garlic, Medium, Honey BBQ, Spicy Garlic, Asian Zing, Caribbean Jerk, Hot BBQ, Hot, Mango Habanera, Wild and the super-spicy Blazzin’ Sauce.
“Buffalo Wild Wings is always a good time with great customer service and a great, friendly environment. The food is pretty good and its always fun when there are a bunch of games going on throughout the bar,” said junior Ronald Keown.
