Widely expected to revolutionize how consumers interact with computers, the Apple tablet was unveiled in a presentation shortly after 1 p.m. by Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs in San Francisco, according to CNN.com.

The tablet is 9.7 inches across and has a price tag of $499, according to Apple’s Web site.
