As the federal government continues to prevent American citizens from volunteering in Haiti, there are seemingly few opportunities for charitable students to directly impact the broken country.
Tonight, members of the Red Cross Student Organization and a native Haitian student will speak at a fundraising event in Holcombe Hall that allows students to donate to the cause. The Caribbean Students Association will sell food as a part of the fundraiser. All contributions will go to the Red Cross International Response Fund.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is sponsored by the Holcombe International Living Learning Community.
The Red Cross Student Organization set up collection points in the Arkansas Union today, so students can make donations there as well.
