7:06 – The ASG kills the resolution.
7:02 – Director of Sustainability Billy Fleming says Facilities Management has still not purchased the promised bike racks, and it has been unresponsive to ASG questions.
Fleming was speaking about “A Resolution to Express Gratitude to Facilities Management.” It would send a thank you letter to the Department of Facilities Management for installing the new bicycle racks.
7:00 – Senator Rebecca Martin wins the spot. She will meet with the Student Fee Review Board on Friday.
6:57 – “This will probably be the most important think you vote on all year,” says Chair Lippert. “So think very carefully on how you vote.”
6:54 – It’s a five-way race for the Student Fee Review Board Representative. He will work with administrators to review the fees students pay every semester. Senators Spencer, Hunnicutt, Martin, Hall and Soden are on the ballot.
“This is one of the most important things that we do,” says Pres. Bookhout. “This is every fee that you’re assessed that you’re responsible for.”
6:50 – Senator Spencer is elected as the Sergeant at Arms. He defeats two challengers. In his rousing speech, he claims to be a fifth-degree brown belt and the ability to defend ASG against any attackers.
6:44 – Senator Hunnicutt is elected as the Constitution and Code Review Committee Chair.
6:43 – Senator Carl Monson is elected as the Campus Safety Committee Chair.
6:41 – Senator Michael Dodd is elected to the Appropriations Committee, defeating three challengers.
6:31 – Senators Martin, McCollum, Johannesen and Brahmbhatt are elected to the Elections Committee.
The other senators decline Chair Lippert’s pleas for more members. This leaves 9 vacancies on the committee.
6:29 – Senators Monson, LaRocca and Mertz are appointed to the Judiciary Committee. They oversee the ASG’s least active branch.
6:22 – ASG Senate now has 13 vacancies to fill in the election.
“I think the turnover is worse this semester than it’s ever been,” says Senate Chair Tammy Lippert. She places the blame on class conflicts and senators who graduated last semester.

6:16 -The Razorback Readership program is now offering free newspapers on the weekends as well. The Saturday papers are a permanent feature, but the Sunday papers are a 6-week trial.
6:10 – The David R. Johnson II Memorial Board gives $2,000 to the Safe Ride program.
“Every rider we have we consider a life saved,” Pres. Mattie Bookhout says. “We couldn’t run this program with student fees alone.”
This is the board’s fifth year of support of the Safe Ride program.
5:00 – Tonight, the senate will decide whether or not to send a ‘thank you note’ to Facilities Management for agreeing to install bike racks. “A Resolution to Express Gratitude to Facilities Management” was introduced by Sen. Gavin McCollum in December, but was postponed until now. This delay was made at the request of the Press Relations Committee, which wanted to wait until the racks were installed to send thanks.
We’ll also see several committee appointments and reports.
