The second game of the Arkansas-Ole Miss baseball series was rained out Friday and postponed until Saturday.
The Razorbacks (34-18, 13-15 Southeastern Conference) and Rebels will play a pair of seven-inning games, beginning at 12:05 p.m. The second game is tentatively scheduled for 3 p.m.
“It is what it is,” Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn said. “Is it real baseball? I don’t know. It’s the end of the year. Who knows what’s going to happen.”
Arkansas and Ole Miss (30-23, 13-15) were in a four-way tie for second place in the SEC West entering Friday. Both teams are playing to make the eight-team SEC Tournament.
The Rebels won the first game of the series 2-1 Thursday.
“We played two sevens (innings) at Kentucky,” Van Horn said.
The Razorbacks lost the first game at Kentucky 3-1 April 24, but won the second 5-1.
Sophomore left-hander Randall Fant (2-3, 3.58 ERA) will start for the Hogs and right-hander David Goforth (4-7, 5.03 ERA) in the first game Saturday.
Sophomore left-hander Cade Lynch (4-3, 2.75 ERA) or freshman right-hander Ryne Stanek (2-2, 4.40 ERA) will start the second game for Arkansas, Van Horn said.
