ASG Campaigns Begin Earlier Than Previous Years
Students interested in ASG executive positions can start campaigning Feb. 24. Online voting will begin March 5 and the new officers will be sworn in May 4, according to the ASG Executive Officer Election Schedule.
The campaign and election process for the potential executive branch of ASG has been moved to allow for more time for transition, said ASG President Michael Dodd.
Students running for next year’s executive branch of ASG were originally suppose to have their campaigning and election the first two weeks after spring break, Dodd said.
This change was made so that the current officers would have more time to help with transiting the new executive officers.
“That’s been a very difficult part of the job in years past. For example, I received little training and had to learn a lot of the day to day activities on my own,” Dodd said.
