ASG Hosts Student Informational

Students will have a chance to express their concerns to Associated Student Government members while enjoying free food from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 14 at the Union Mall.

The event, called Ask ASG, was created by ASG senators Amy May West and Michael Wyse to encourage a flow of information between the two groups, Wyse said.

ASG members will be giving out food and fielding complaints, comments and suggestions from students.

“The point of senate is to represent students. How are we supposed to represent them if we don’t know what they need?” West said.

Senators, current e x e c u t i v e  officers and the new e x e c u t i v e  officers will be at the event, Wyse said. Senators will talk to students while giving out pizza, soda and ASG paraphernalia.

There will also be a board w h e r e students can write complaints and concerns about growth, West said.

“Students are encouraged to speak to senators. You might not have this opportunity every day,” West said.

The two purposefully chose to have this event after the election of the new e x e c u t i v e officers.

Whichever ticket wins will be involved in the event, West said.

“Students heard their promises. Now they get to tell them what they want done,” Wyse said.

This event is being paid for through the ASG Senate budget.
