Police: Razorback Player Arrested

A Razorback football player was arrested Wednesday when he failed to appear in court for a speeding ticket.

Christopher Smith, 20, of 4505 Flagstick Drive, Fayetteville, was arrested at 3:02 a.m., Oct. 10, on the charges of failing to appear in court.

On July 31, a warrant was issued for Smith, Razorback football defensive end, for failing to appear July 18 in the Farmington City Court for a speeding ticket, officials said.

Smith was stopped May 4 on U.S. 64 in Farmington, where he traveled 64 miles an hour where the speed limit was 45 miles an hour, said Captain Michael Thompson of Farmington Police Department.

Smith posted a $415 bond, and was released from the Washington County jail at 4:11 a.m., Wednesday, according to the Washington County detainee intake report.

Smith was scheduled a new court date of Dec. 19 in the Farmington City Court, according to the detainee intake report.
