Head coach Houston Nutt and his Razorbacks will be making their first ever visit to The Swamp in Gainesville, Fla., when they take on the No. 16 Florida Gators in their first road game of the season tomorrow. Nutt, who has led the Hogs to a Southeastern Conference Western Division best 48 wins in the last six years, will lead his 3-1 Razorbacks into arguably the toughest venue in all of college football to face the balanced offensive attack of Ron Zook's Gators.

After posting an undefeated weekend to open up Southeastern Conference play last weekend, the Lady'Backs soccer team will hope to keep the positive conference momentum going as they make a trip this weekend to the state of Mississippi for two critical conference games.

"The Hogs will drown in the murky waters of the swamp." That was what I predicted the Hogs to do this weekend after beating Alabama to reach a 3-1 mark in my preseason schedule analysis. This is partly because the Gators are a very solid team on both sides of the ball, but mostly because I thought that this young group of Razorbacks wouldn't be able to play to their full potential on their first road trip of the season.

There is something different at the UA this year. No, it's not the black mold overtaking Carlson Terrace. It's the 6-2 European blonde that plays tennis for the Lady'Backs. Her name is Karina Ledaja, and she is a junior transfer student from the University of Western Kentucky majoring in international business.

The Arkansas Razorbacks will face another tough challenge early in the season Saturday when they travel to face No. 16 Florida in 'The Swamp.' Arkansas began preparations for a top ranked Gator offense and stout defense on Tuesday with a closed practice. "The guys are taking the new game plan and really trying to concentrate," head coach Houston Nutt said.

After the Razorbacks' 27-10 win against the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arkansas coach Houston Nutt felt the weight lifting off his shoulders. Nutt's Razorbacks (3-1, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) used to be untouchable in the state of Arkansas. Not just in Little Rock where Nutt is 17-0, but in Fayetteville as well.

When the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Florida Gators meet in Gainesville, Fla. on Saturday, an arms race will ensue. Not the one between the United States and the Soviets during the Cold War, but an arms race between the right arms of Arkansas quarterback Matt Jones and Florida's Chris Leak.

The Arkansas Lady'Back soccer team followed up its strong non-conference start with a pair of solid performances to open conference play during the weekend. The Lady'Backs (5-4-1, 1-0-1 Southeastern Conference) beat Vanderbilt 2-1 on Friday and followed that up with a hard-fought 1-1 tie against Kentucky on Sunday.

The Arkansas Lady'Back volleyball team kicked off conference play last weekend with matches against No. 5 Florida and Georgia. The Lady'Backs experienced a mixture of results, dropping to Florida on Friday, 3-1, and defeating Georgia on Sunday, 3-0. Despite falling to the Gators 3-1, Friday night was not a complete loss for the Lady'Backs, as they had the upper hand early in the match, winning the first game 30-28.
