As winter comes to an end, springtime brings about a warmer, happier nature. This playlist includes 15 lighthearted and feel-good songs to listen to as the weather changes.

“Happy” by Pharrell Williams, Hip-Hop/R&B

In this song, originally written for the movie “Despicable Me 2,” Pharrell creates a happier tune regarding the main character after falling in love and seeing the happier side in life. This song brings about positive feelings with jazzy background music and catchy lyrics.

“Sexual Vibe” by Stephen Puth, Pop

This chill beat is not entirely sensual but has organic lyrics as Puth writes about wanting to get to know somebody without having solely physical intentions. The melodic chorus brings a modern, bluesy funk twist that is perfect for listening to on the beach.

“Get Lucky” by Daft Punk, Electronic/Disco

Featuring Pharrell Williams, this song is not only Daft Punk’s first UK No. 1 single but one of their only non-electronic songs. They wanted to write an upbeat song about not wanting a good night to end.

“Soak Up the Sun” by Sheryl Crow, Pop

Written in 2002, this radiant and bright song by Crow emphasizes the desire to go outside and lay out in the sun.

“Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles, Rock

Inspired by and written on a beautiful spring morning, this cheerful tune by the Beatles incorporates the positivity resulting from a little bit of sunlight and nature.

“Beautiful Day” by U2, Alternative Rock

Played at many famous events, these Bono-written lyrics illustrate the story of someone who has seemingly lost everything, but manages to find the joy in what they still have.

“Keep Your Head Up” by Andy Grammer, Pop

In a song that could potentially encourage students during midterm season, Grammer’s pick-me-up, written while he was still performing on the streets, landed him in the music industry as people started looking at him as a musician.

“Loving You Easy” by Zac Brown Band, Country

This gleeful love song describes how easy it feels when you’re in love with the right person. With lighthearted acoustics and catchy beats, this song makes you want to dance around in the kitchen or with friends.

“Happy Together” by The Turtles, Pop

Although this song has upbeat tunes and beats, it is actually about unrequited love. However, this song created the lighthearted image for the Turtles because of the cheery and joyous chorus.

“Pineapple Skies” by Miguel, Contemporary R&B

This bubbly song is similar to the beat of Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing.” Miguel uses his smooth, silky voice to describe the beauty of nature.

“Be About You” by Winston Surfshirt, Hip-Hop/Rap

With a mellow, springtime/summer vibe, this groovy hit by Surfshirt is a happy-go-lucky beat about how it feels for two people to develop feelings for each other.

“Footloose” by Kenny Loggins, Rock

In this classic from the movie “Footloose,” this song by Loggins was made for people to go out with their friends and dance the night away.

“Sucker” by The Jonas Brothers, Pop rock

For the first time in years, the Jonas Brothers reunited to produce this single about how they are now all in love. With Nick and Kevin married, and Joe engaged, they all shared the love in this song.

Written for the movie “Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse,” this song by Post Malone and Swae Lee highlights the softness in their voices as they mix to make a sweet melody.

“Better” by Khalid, Contemporary R&B

Although his songs are normally slower and involve heartbreak, this recent hit by Khalid creates a chill yet upbeat mix about how nothing feels better than being with his love. Perfect for road trip music, this song incorporates warm and melodious sounds.
