Walk and Talk: Downtown Fayetteville Art
Director of Community Engagement Dacre Whitaker will be leading a walking tour of the Fayetteville Square’s public art Oct. 12 at 9 a.m. The tour will start in the lobby of the Fayetteville Public Library, and walking shoes and a water bottle are recommended.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Concert
Musicians from the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas and conductor Shi-Hung Young will perform the score from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban live at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavillion. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the film starts at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $22-$75.
Play: “Boeing Boeing”
An American journalist living in Paris has three fianceés, all of them flight attendants. All the women are unaware of each other until a schedule change brings them to his apartment at the same time. The show is from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the University Theater. Tickets are $5 for students and $20 for adults 21 and up.
Ciderday Night Comedy Show
Richard Douglas Jones, as seen on Comedy Central’s “The New Negroes,” will perform at Black Apple Crossing in Springdale at 8:30 p.m., along with Edward Bell, Harrison Garcia and local comedians. Admission is free, and there will be various ciders on tap to drink.
There will be live music, food trucks, and Arkansas beer from 1-7 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Fayetteville Historic Square. Admission is $10 for adults 21 and up, $5 for designated drivers 18 and up, and free for children under 18.
Author Gil Miller will read from his latest crime novel at 2 p.m. at the Fayetteville Public Library. The event is open to the public and some of his books will be available for sale and signing.
Rock and Americana singer Shawn James will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight at George’s Majestic lounge. Tickets are $12.50-$15.
