Groovement with Tiny Towns 

Groovement, a six member rock group from Fayetteville will play Sept. 7 at George’s Majestic Lounge. Tiny Towns will open for Groovement. Tiny Towns is a self-described indie and alternative fusion band from Jonesboro, Arkansas. Music begins at 9:00 p.m. Tickets start at $12.

Breaking Benjamin 

Breaking Benjamin will play Sept. 6 at Walmart AMP. Breaking Benjamin is a hard rock band with over 4 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Breaking Benjamin’s most recent album, Ember, was released April 13, 2018.  Opening acts include Chevelle, Three Days Grace and Diamante and Dorothy. Music will begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets start at $99.50.

 

Movies

It Chapter 2

“It Chapter 2” is the sequel to “It.” The sequel takes place in the town of Derry, where the clown Pennywise returns to terrorize the now adult members of The Losers Club. Tickets to the show at AMC Fiesta Square 16 start at $9.99 per adult and Malco Razorback Cinema start at $11.00 per adult.

112 Drive in 

The 112 Drive In will have showings this every day this weekend. Starting at 8:15 p.m., the first movie will be “It Chapter 2.” At 11:20 p.m., the second movie will be “Annabelle Comes Home.” Admission is $10 per adult. Only cash payments are accepted.

 

Arts

“Shakespeare in Love” 

Productions of "Shakespeare in Love" will be on stage until Sept. 15. “Shakespeare in Love” is a play following the story of a young William Shakespeare finding love with an actress posing as a man in one of his plays. The play has a run time of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Tickets range from $37-49.

Fenix Gallery 

Local artist Jan Gosnell’s work will be featured at Fenix Gallery from Sept. 5-28. Gosnell finds inspiration for his paintings and drawings by using the title to inspire the image. The exhibition include recent works of Gosnell’s.

 

Events 

Pesto Fest

Tri Cycle Farms’ 8th Annual Pesto Fest & Pesto Contest will take place from 4:00-10:00 p.m Sept. 7. The Pesto Fest includes music, food and the Annual Pesto Contest. Headliners include Opal Agafia, Jamie Lou and the Hullabaloo and Ashtyn Barbaree and the Barbarians. Other activities at Pesto Fest include the Greedy Goats of NWA and the Island Pacific Dancers of NWA. Admission is $30.00.

1st Annual NW Arkansas Mess Fest 

The 1st Annual Mess Fest will be at Lokomotion Family Fun Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 7. Activities include a mud kitchen, water balloons, dino dig, kinetic sand tables and bubble wrap stomp painting. Tickets are free for both adults and children.

Yoga in the Garden 

An open-air yoga class will be offered from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sept. 7. The class takes place in the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks and is taught by Fayetteville Athletic Club certified yoga instructors. Yoga mats, towels and water will not be provided. Yoga in the Garden is a free event.
