A Very SoNA Christmas

The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas will perform a collection of sacred and secular music which will celebrate the Christmas season. The performance will take place at the Walton Arts Center on Dec. 15. The show starts at 2 p.m. and tickets cost $32-$55.

House of Songs Songwriter Showcase at Stage 18

The House of Songs Ozarks will bring in musicians from Northwest Arkansas to perform original music at Stage 18 on Dec. 17. Featured artists include Ashtyn Barbaree, Samantha Hunt, Lacy Hampton and Jesse Dean. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.

Big Smith

Pop, rock and country quartet Big Smith will play at George’s Majestic Lounge on Dec. 28. Originating from Springfield, Missouri, their music is inspired by Appalachian gospel and dance music. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 9:30. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Corey Smith

American singer-songwriter Corey Smith will play at George’s Majestic Lounge on Jan. 19. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the concert starts at 9:00. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

Premiering Dec. 14, this web-slinging animated superhero film features the life of Miles Morales as he becomes Spider-Man and encounters other people with similar powers from alternate universes. Tickets will cost around $9.50 for adults at Malco Razorback Cinema and around $10 for adults, $8.50 for students, at AMC Fiesta Square 12.

Mary Poppins Returns

Mary Poppins glides back onto the silver screen Dec. 19 to help the now-grown Banks siblings during depression-era London. Tickets will cost around $10 for adults, $8.50 for students, at AMC Fiesta Square 12.

ARTS

It’s a Wonderful Life

James Rodgers’ “It’s a Wonderful Life” is being presented by the Gilbert Theater Dec. 14-16. The story follows George Bailey, as he struggles with the obligations he has to this family and his civic duties. Tickets cost $14-16.

The Lightning Thief

A musical based off the Rick Riordan's fantasy-adventure “Percy Jackson” series, “The Lightning Thief” follows character Percy Jackson’s life after developing his powers and learning that he is a demigod. The performance will take place at the Walton Arts Center on Jan. 4-5 and tickets start at $25.

Doe A Reindeer Cake Class

Decorate a cake with chocolate buttercream icing at Rick’s Bakery on Dec. 15 from 1 p.m. - 2:30 for $30 and learn tips and tricks on how to ice cakes. All supplies will be provided, two people are permitted to a cake.

Winter Solstice: The Longest Night

Meditate, sing traditional carols and decorate yule candles for the new year at Pachika Meditation Studio on Dec. 21 to celebrate the winter solstice. The event can host 15 people and registration costs $11.
