Springdale Police Department officers placed a student in custody Thursday after administrators at the Don Tyson School of Innovation received reports that they had a BB gun on campus, said Rick Schaeffer, communication director at Springdale School District. 

Officers confiscated the BB gun on arrival to the school, Schaeffer said.

Administrators received reports of a student with a BB gun at about 11 a.m., Schaeffer said.

Springdale Police received a call reporting terroristic threats from the address of the school at 12:55 p.m., according to the Springdale Police Department dispatch log.

The Don Tyson School of Innovation is a charter school in Springdale, according to the school’s website.
