Crime Graphic

UA Police Department officers are investigating a case of aggravated assault that happened on undeveloped UA property Monday evening, a UAPD captain said.

A person unaffiliated with the UofA reported that two unidentified people pointed machetes at him and told him to leave property north of 19th Street and east of South School Avenue, UAPD Capt. Gary Crain said.

Aggravated assault is defined as purposefully engaging in behavior that creates a threat of injury or death to another person, according to the Arkansas Code. In Arkansas, aggravated assault is a class D felony, which could result in up to six years in prison.

The person who reported the crime left the area and was not injured, Crain said.
