Cumulative on-campus cases of COVID-19 rose by 33 and active cases fell by 26 between Wednesday and Thursday, just days after the end of  the Labor Day holiday weekend and before Saturday’s sold-out Texas versus Arkansas game in Fayetteville.

There were 111 active cases on campus by the end of the Wednesday-Thursday reporting period, down from 137 Tuesday,  according to Friday’s update to the UA COVID-19 dashboard. Confirmed cases rose by 33 and recoveries rose by 60.

Of the 111 active cases, 106 were students, two were graduate assistants, one was a faculty member and two were staff members, according to the dashboard. Of the 33 new cases, 13 were identified through on-campus testing and 20 were self-reported.

The on-campus testing positivity rate for the reporting period of Wednesday-Thursday was 7.1%. Of the 42,909 tests conducted on the UA campus since Aug. 10, 2020, 1,599 have been positive, yielding an overall 3.7% positivity rate.
