UPDATE: The female who made the report is a 19-year-old student and the male suspect is an 18-year-old student, UAPD Capt. Gary Crain said.

A female Yocum Hall resident reported to UA Police Department officers that she was raped Tuesday in Yocum Hall by a male acquaintance, according to the UAPD Daily Crime Log.

UAPD officers received the report Wednesday at 3:29 p.m., according to the crime log. The person who reported the rape said it occurred between 2:25 and 10:38 a.m. Tuesday.

The case is active. UAPD will investigate the case by conducting interviews and reviewing security footage, UAPD Capt. Gary Crain said.

This is the fifth rape report UAPD has received during the 2019-20 school year, according to the crime log.

Students can report a rape or sexual assault to UAPD by calling 911 or to Title IX by calling 479-575-7111.
