The Washington County coroner identified the body found in south Fayetteville on Wednesday.

Sumner “Glen” Fields, 61, was last seen Oct. 2 at 4 p.m., and had a medical condition that affected his speech and memory, according to a Fayetteville Police Department press release.

The Fayetteville Police Department issued a missing person alert for Fields Oct. 7, according to the FPD press release.

Two people reported that they discovered a dead body at about 11:29 a.m. Wednesday in a creek bank north of 19th Street, University of Arkansas Police Department Captain Gary Crain said.

Fields’ body has been taken to a medical examiner who will determine the official cause of death, Crain said.

Police do not suspect foul play, Crain said.
