The ninth floor of the Harmon Avenue Parking Garage closed Nov. 12 because of icy conditions and is still closed, with Transit and Parking officials unsure when it will reopen.

Transit and Parking employees barricaded the ramp to the top floor early Tuesday morning because the ramp was frozen and unsafe to drive on, and the floor remains closed, said David Wilson, Transit and Parking communications director.

No email was sent to notify students of the closure, Wilson said.

“A lot of people complain we send out too many emails, so we don’t send out an email for every change in parking. For Harmon, the top level is for people who want metered spaces, and we really wouldn’t have any idea who to target the email to, so we don’t know who would want to park there on any given day,” Wilson said.
