Active COVID-19 cases on the UA campus continue to decrease after a slight increase in recent weeks.

There are currently 23 active cases on campus, down by one from Monday. Of the active cases, 18 are students, four are staff and one is listed as other, according to the UA COVID-19 dashboard. Others could include vendors, contractors and other non-university employees who have been on campus since Aug. 1.

The decline followed the reported 43 active cases recorded by the Pat Walker Health Center on Oct.14-15.

From Oct. 19-20, there were six new cases reported and seven new recoveries. In addition to the five self-reports, one new case was reported to the UA Emergency Management. There were no reports from the Arkansas Health Department.

There have been 1,720 tests performed on campus with 1,720 total recoveries. Of the tests performed, 729 were positive, generating a 6.8% positivity rate.

Sixteen cases are pending, according to the dashboard. There is a 97.5% availability of quarantine and isolation space for on-campus students.

For symptomatic individuals, rapid COVID-19 testing is now available from the Pat Walker Health Center with results returned within an hour. Testing for those who are asymptomatic is now being conducted by appointment in drive-up format at the Pat Walker main facility parking lot.
