Stand-alone bar facilities will be allowed to open Tuesday, a week after the reopening of bars within restaurants.

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced Monday that bars inside restaurants could reopen the following day with a safety plan, while all other bars can reopen on Tuesday next week.

Bars have been closed by order of the governor since March 21, in an effort to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Specific guidelines for in-restaurant and free-standing bars are forthcoming, according to the ADH. Current guidelines require restaurants to seat no more than 33% of their normal guest capacity at one time. All parties must be seated six feet apart, and all tables must be placed 10 feet apart. No parties of 10 or more are permitted.
