UA Police Department officers received a report of an acquaintance rape Thursday that took place early in the morning April 13 in Pomfret Hall, a UAPD official said.

A 19-year-old student reported the rape, and the assailant is a 20-year-old student, UAPD Capt. Gary Crain said.

Officers are still investigating the report, Crain said.

No further information has been released at this time, Crain said.

This is the eighth rape report UAPD officers have received in the 2018-19 academic year, and the third in Pomfret Hall, according to the UAPD Daily Crime Log.

Students can report a rape or sexual assault to UAPD by calling 911 or to the UA Title IX coordinator by calling 479-575-7111.
