Tuition Costs Should Reflect Future Value of Degrees

Many young adults today don’t pursue the career they want out of fear of being unemployed or poor when they graduate. Any bachelor’s degree ends up costing about the same at any given university but the income that graduates receive varies based upon what their degree is in. A graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business isn’t going to get paid the same as a graduate with a bachelor’s degree in art or journalism. They could both have the same amount of school debt but have a major difference in pay. For this reason, tuition should be based upon how much the average person in that field gets paid. Difference in pay amongst people with different degrees or no degrees is understandable because some jobs are simply more important or require more knowledge than others. However, the difference in pay shouldn’t be as drastic as it is.
