The Arkansas Razorbacks (2-2, 0-1) will take on the No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies (2-2, 0-1) Saturday as the Hogs are looking for their first conference win of the season.
The Hogs are coming off a disappointing loss to the San Jose State Spartans on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Hogs lost to the Spartans at home by a score of 31-24 while being 21 point favorites.
Arkansas quarterback Nick Starkel completed 28 of his 50 pass attempts (56%) and threw for 356 yards in the loss against San Jose State. Starkel also had three passing touchdowns but threw an astonishing five interceptions, including one that sealed the victory for San Jose State at the end of the fourth quarter.
Just like the Razorbacks, who are trying to respond from last weekend, the Aggies are coming off of a loss to the No. 7 Auburn Tigers from last weekend. The Aggies lost 28-20 as their fourth quarter comeback came up short.
Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond completed 31 of his 49 pass attempts (63%) and threw for 335 yards with two passing touchdowns in the Aggies’ loss against Auburn. Texas A&M was No. 17 in the nation coming into the game but dropped down to No. 23 after the loss.
The Hogs lead the all-time series 41-31-3 against the Aggies, but Texas A&M has won the last seven matchups dating back to 2012, with the most recent one coming from last year, Saturday, Sept. 29. The Aggies won 24-17, and they intercepted a pass from last year’s starting quarterback for the Hogs, Ty Storey that sealed the game.
The Hogs will kickoff at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Game time is at 11 a.m. and the matchup will be broadcasted on ESPN. The Aggies are 23.5-point favorites going into the neutral-site battle.
