LSU @ ARK Game 3

Sophomore pinch hitter Linnie Malkin records a hit April 20 during a 3-1 loss to the LSU Tigers.

The Razorbacks (34-15,8-10) dropped game three of the series with No. 7  LSU (37-11,14-7), snapping the Hogs’ eight-game winning streak. Arkansas did not record a hit until the sixth inning leading to the 3-1 loss.

The Tigers scored all three of their runs on a home run in the third inning and totalled 13 hits. Sophomore pitcher Mary Haff started for Arkansas and moved to 16-10 on the season following the loss. Junior pitcher Autumn Storms came in to pitch the fourth inning and the Hogs’ pitchers combined for nine strikeouts total.

Arkansas could not produce anything offensively until the sixth inning. Sophomore pinch-hitter Linnie Malkin started off the inning with a single to left field to end the hitless contest for the Hogs. Junior Keely Edwards entered to pinch-run and advanced to second base on a wild pitch.

Edwards would take third on a hit from sophomore left fielder Hannah McEwen and scored on a sacrifice fly from sophomore infielder Danielle Gibson.

The Hogs will travel to College Station to take on Texas A&M (25-21) in game one of the series at 8 p.m. April 27.
