Arkansas vs. Alabama Predictions

Razorback Football will welcome the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide to Fayetteville for a Saturday matinee to wrap up the 2020 campaign,

Arkansas looks to avoid a fourth consecutive loss, but that is no easy task. Alabama has prevailed in the last 13 meetings, and ESPN’s Power Football Index gives the Hogs just a 2.8% chance to win. The Crimson Tide has not lost a game since the 2019 Iron Bowl and has already secured a berth in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game.

Barring the Razorbacks’ first bowl appearance since 2016, here are the final Traveler staff score predictions this season.

Nick Saban will tell you that Arkansas should not be slept on this week, but his words just cannot be taken at face value. The compliment is nice and all, but keep in mind that the guy churns out pro after pro at Alabama. It might be the best NFL factory ever. The Crimson Tide’s smallest margin of victory in a game this season is 15 points. The offense racks up nearly 50 points and 550 yards per game. The defense has also held its last five opponents to 17 points or fewer. Alabama could rest its starters for the SEC Championship and still yawn its way to victory.

PREDICTION: Alabama 49, Arkansas 17

There is no sugarcoating this one: the Hogs are facing an Alabama offense that is historically good. Sam Pittman said that he has never seen an offensive line as good as the Crimson Tide has this season. Bama is putting up 548.3 total yards per game and turning that into an SEC-leading 49.2 points per game. Arkansas started the season playing lights-out defense, but the defense has been slacking as of late. The Razorbacks are giving up 452.7 totals yards per game and I see Bama hitting that easily Saturday. Arkansas will likely fall to 3-7, no matter who starts at quarterback.

PREDICTION: Alabama 52, Arkansas 28

The Arkansas Razorbacks are going up against the best team in the nation. The No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide has been dominant all year and shows no signs of letting up. The Razorbacks will perform to the best of their ability against the Crimson Tide, but I am convinced that Alabama will take home the win and will put up big numbers on the board. Alabama head coach Nick Saban has put together a national championship team, and it will show this Saturday. I believe that Arkansas could get selected to play in a bowl game before all is said and done, but as of right now, I see the Crimson Tide roll in this one.

PREDICTION: Alabama 52, Arkansas 17

Arkansas will have a tall order Saturday trying to stop the Alabama defense. The Crimson Tide is led by Heisman candidate Mac Jones, who has torched secondaries all season long. Running back Najee Harris is having his best season as well. The defense for the Razorbacks has struggled in recent weeks, so they have to do better if they want to stop Bama. The good news is that Arkansas is coming off of its best offensive performance of the season. If the Hogs can continue the offensive explosion then they may be able to compete with Alabama.

PREDICTION: Alabama 59, Arkansas 34

The Razorback offense has been struggling the past few weeks to get yardage and the team's defense has not been playing well either, even though they started off the season strong. I think wide receiver Treylon Burks will manage a touchdown and gain some yardage along with running back Trelon Smith. Alabama quarterback Mac Jones and the Crimson Tide offensive line will not leave room for Arkansas' defense to put up a fair fight.

PREDICTION: Alabama 45, Arkansas 14
