Arkansas Razorbacks junior running back Chase Hayden announced Wednesday that he would finish his career elsewhere after three seasons with the program. Hayden released a statement on Twitter thanking new Razorback head coach Sam Pittman as well as the UofA.
It’s not the first time Hayden has entered the transfer portal. Hayden entered his name at the end of the 2018 season but later withdrew his name and remained with the team for the next season.
Chase Hayden was signed to the class of 2017 by Bret Bielema and later played for Chad Morris. He was a former four-star recruit and was a top target in Tennessee.
Hayden played in 23 games for Arkansas. He played in just four games all of 2019. He redshirted after playing four games, which gives him two years of eligibility at another college.
Hayden is a grad transfer, which means he will be able to play in the fall and not have to sit out because of transfer rules.
Hayden finished his tenure with the Hogs amassing 130 carries for 616 yards and five touchdowns. He had 16 career catches for 96 yards with the Razorbacks. The Hogs have senior running back Rakeem Boyd coming back next season along with redshirt senior T.J. Hammonds, redshirt junior Trelon Smith, and redshirt freshman A’Montae Spivey.
The Razorbacks also signed three-star recruit Dominique Johnson who was the only running back signed during Sam Pittman’s inaugural recruiting class of 2020.
