While students stress about final exams, the Traveler has worked hard to gather fun and relaxing events for you to attend. Although we cannot guarantee good grades, we will try our best to provide a fun weekend.

Music

Gar Hole-idays Winter Winter Showcase

George’s Majestic Lounge is hosting Gar Hole Record’s winter showcase Friday and Saturday. The lineup includes many local talents such as Nick Shoulders, Willi Carlisle and Dylan Earl. George’s has posted the full lineup on its website, with tickets on sale for $20. The doors open at 8:30 p.m. with the first band starting its performance at 9 p.m.

Flatland Cavalry

The energetic folk band Flatland Cavalry will be rocking at JJ’s Live Saturday night. The band’s music is a mix of folk, country and Americana sounds allowing for a wide range of appeal. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the music begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $27.50 for now, but the price will increase to $32.50 the day of the show.

Comedy

Greg Morton

Laugh Factory regular Greg Morton is traveling to Northwest Arkansas this weekend todo stand-up at the Grove Comedy Club in Lowell. There are shows at 6 p.m. both Friday and Saturday night, along with an additional late show starting at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are on sale for $20.

Sports

Razorback Women’s  Basketball vs. Arkansas State 

The Razorbacks will face off against the Arkansas State Red Wolves on Sunday at Bud Walton Arena. The undefeated team looks to extend its winning streak after a hard-fought victory over Lamar. Tickets are available for $5 and tipoff is set for 3 p.m.

Events

Pet Photos with Santa

Fossil Cove Brewing Co. is hosting pet photos with Santa Clause Sunday. From 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., furry friends — and their owners — can meet Kris Kringle at the brewery and snap a selfie too. The event is free to attend.

White Elephant 5K

Get in the holiday spirit with the White Elephant 5K and mile races Saturday.

Enjoy Lights of the Ozarks, holiday music, hot cocoa and free gifts. The races begin at the Downtown Square in Fayetteville at 8 a.m., and participants can register online for either race for $20.
