DWRRS fire

Emergency vehicles line Stadium Drive after the Fayetteville Fire Department received a call Thursday afternoon from Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. The small fire on the upper level has been contained.

Ten emergency vehicles responded Thursday afternoon to a call about a small fire on the upper level of Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Dispatchers received the call around 3:10 p.m., Fayetteville assistant fire chief Tom Good said.

“There was a small fire in one of the concession booths that was contained by the sprinkler system,” Good said.

A hot dog roller in the concession stand caught fire, UAPD Capt. Gary Crain said.

The emergency personnel on the ground kept a calm demeanor, as did athletic director Hunter Yurachek, who was briefly on the scene.

Four fire trucks, two other fire vehicles, three EMS trucks and one UA emergency management vehicle were parked on Stadium Drive for about half an hour, and they began dispersing at 3:47 p.m.
