Fayetteville police officers responded to a shooting incident at approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Washington County Fairgrounds, according to an FPD Facebook post.

Officers rendered first aid to one victim, who was then transported to a local hospital. The shooting investigation is ongoing, but officers think it was not a random act of violence, according to the post.

The suspect has not been located. Some community members who were in attendance at the fair have posted to social media accounts of people stampeding to exit the fair.

The suspect and victim have not yet been identified. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: Detectives arrested a 16-year-old male Sunday. He is facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Battery 1st degree, Battery 2nd degree, Aggravated Riot, Engaging in Violent Criminal Group Activity, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor 2nd degree, and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree.
