New COVID graphic

Active COVID-19 cases on the UA campus rose from 37 to 39 between the reporting periods of Friday-Sunday and Monday-Tuesday.

The Pat Walker Health Center UA COVID-19 dashboard lists 11 new confirmed cases in that timeframe, while the spreadsheet linked to the page lists nine. It is unclear which number is correct.

From Monday to Tuesday, Pat Walker Health Center officials conducted 184 tests, two of which were positive, according to the health center’s COVID-19 dashboard. Seven additional cases were self-reported and 20 of the on-campus tests were still pending as of Wednesday.

Of current active cases, 32 are students, one is a faculty member and six are staff. There were nine new recoveries in the Monday-Tuesday reporting period, according to the dashboard.

During the week of Sept. 20-26, 17 of 481 on-campus tests were positive, for a positivity rate of 3.5%. Active cases for the week peaked at 95 in the reporting period of Sept. 20-21.
