The No. 3 Arkansas women’s golf team closed out the fall portion of its schedule Wednesday by finishing eighth at The Ally tournament at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.

The Razorbacks were 11-over-par in the tournament, finishing well behind first-place Alabama, which swept the event and won the team title by shooting 22-under-par. Alabama sophomore Benedetta Moresco won the individual title with a 19-under-par finish for the tournament.

Junior Julia Gregg led the charge for the Hogs, finishing tied for 15th after shooting 1-under-par during the three-day event. Gregg has not finished outside the top 20 in an event this season.

Arkansas junior Kajal Mistry rallied Wednesday and moved up the leaderboard, firing an even-par 72 in the final round to finish tied for 18th at 1-over. It was Mistry’s fourth top-20 finish in as many tournaments this fall.

Sophomore Cory Lopez, who has two top-five finishes this fall, shot 5-over-par for a three-round total of 221 and 32nd place in the tournament.

Redshirt senior Brooke Matthews finished 8-over, but got back under par in the final round, firing a 1-under 71. Matthews has shot under par in seven of her nine rounds this season.

Sophomore Miriam Ayora (67-74-71—212, -4) shot 5-under-par on the opening day of the individual portion of the tournament. She carried that great performance to a 10th-place finish, her second top-10 finish of the season.

Arkansas will not compete until the spring portion of its season begins in Melbourne, Florida, with the fifth annual Moon Golf Invitational at Duran Golf Club on Feb. 20th.
