Freshman guard Moses Moody dribbles during the Razorbacks’ home win over the Auburn Tigers. Moody was named a second-team All-American on Thursday by March Madness’ Andy Katz.

Arkansas men’s basketball freshman guard Moses Moody was selected to Andy Katz’s March Madness All-American second team Thursday following an impressive regular season.

Moody tallied 17.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game over his first college campaign.

The Little Rock native ranks third in the Southeastern Conference and third among NCAA freshmen in scoring. Moody and fellow All-American honorees Cade Cunningham (Oklahoma State) and Evan Mobley (Southern California) were the only freshmen in the NCAA to average at least 16 points and five rebounds this season.

Moody has led the Razorbacks to a No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament with an 11-game conference win streak. He made the All-American roster over SEC Player of the Year Herbert Jones of Alabama.

Moody was the only SEC player represented on the 15-player squad and is the first Razorback since Bobby Portis in 2015 to be named a second-team All-American.

The Razorbacks will play the Missouri Tigers in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament at 6 p.m. Friday, March 12 in Nashville, Tennessee. The game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
